About the Course
For absolute beginners in playwriting. This introductory session explores stagecraft and writing for the world of theatre. Students will learn basic drama vocabulary, key dramatic techniques and processes, how to generate and gather source material for stories, how to keep personal and play journals (recording ideas). Additionally, students will learn the importance of effective dialogue and characterisation, how to edit a script and how to read a play creatively. There will be some reading and basic writing exercises. Please note this course is not eligible for any concessionary rates.
