Poetry Please!

This ten-week course offers the chance for a gentle meander through poetry from all eras. Each week we will consider poems with a linking theme, examples include war and conflict, the natural world, love, identity, the body and home. No previous literary knowledge is necessary as this is an opportunity to explore imagery, form and language for existing poetry lovers, and for those wishing to learn more about poetry. Selected poets include: Carol Anne Duffy, Robert Browning, Emily Dickenson, Robert Burns, Audre Lorde, Khalil Gibran, Christina Rossetti, Sylvia Plath (and others).
